The Durr-e-Falak blouse — Urdu for pearl of the sky — layers two delicate techniques into one luminous surface. A fine lace base provides the underlying texture and structure, over which silver pearls are hand-stitched in tight vertical lines that fan outward from a central point at the V-neckline, radiating across the bust like rays of light. The lace beneath gives the embroidery something to grip and gather against, creating subtle dimension where the pearl rows catch and release fabric in soft folds rather than lying perfectly flat.
Pearl density increases toward the centre seam, creating a gradient effect that draws the eye downward and gives the surface real visual depth — denser, brighter silver at the centre, softening outward where the lace shows through more openly between rows. It is this interplay between solid pearl coverage and visible lace that distinguishes the piece from a flat, uniformly beaded surface.
Wide, fully embellished straps continue the same ray pattern over the shoulder, anchoring the deep V-neckline with structure. The back opens in a matching deep V, closing at the base with a lace-up dori tie in silver-grey cord. Meticulously handcrafted at The Silver Stitch atelier, pearl and lace worked together as one considered surface.
