Named for Gulnar — the Persian word for pomegranate flower, which is this exact shade of wine-fuchsia — and Aaina (mirror), the Gulnar Aaina Mirror Blouse is the most exuberant piece in the atelier collection.
The embroidery is its most direct: round silver mirrors in an all-over scatter across the wine base, each one secured with matching wine resham catch-stitch in the traditional shisha technique. The tonal thread makes the stitching disappear — only the circular silver mirror face remains visible, a coin of light on a wine surface. The round shape was chosen specifically because the circular catch-stitch surround aligns perfectly with round mirrors, creating the cleanest tonal result in the series.
The five-inch cap sleeves — fully embroidered — change the register of the piece from crop top to structured blouse. When the wearer moves, the sleeve mirrors catch light from above the shoulder line. The scoop neckline at the front is the most classical Indian neckline in the collection. At the back: a perfect circle keyhole cutout framed by mirror work, closed with a wine dori tie with matching wine fabric tassel ends — every detail in the same colour family, entirely coherent.
Styled with white lehenga throughout — the wine-fuchsia and white contrast is the defining combination for this blouse, and the silver mirrors fire against white from every angle.
