"Gulnar — the pomegranate flower, the oldest red in Indian poetry. This blouse carries that colour and covers it entirely in silver. The result is not a red blouse. It is a red blouse that became an event."
Introducing the Gulnar Mirror Blouse — named for the pomegranate flower, gulnar, the deepest and most ceremonial red in Urdu-Persian tradition. Handcrafted at The Silver Stitch atelier, this scarlet blouse carries the most complex embellishment combination in the entire mirror series: four materials used simultaneously — hand-set mirrors, cut dana crystals, poth seed beads, and flat sequins — all in silver-white on the vivid red base. No single material dominates. Together they create a surface that carries four different qualities of light at once: the scatter of mirrors, the faceted sparkle of cut dana, the dense texture of poth, and the flat reflectance of sequins.
The floral motif is the embroidery language here — snowflake-like blossoms and petals arranged in a repeating all-over pattern that covers every inch of the blouse front, back, and straps. The silver-on-red creates a striking contrast that needs no colour support from accessories. Stud earrings, minimal jewellery, and this blouse is the complete look.
The silhouette is the most distinctive in the series: a structured collar/halter neckline from which two embroidered panels extend outward and downward, creating an open-front cape construction. The centre front is open — the embroidered panels taper outward from the neckline, revealing the midriff from the collar down. The effect is of wearing an embroidered collar that extends into a blouse: architectural, theatrical, and unlike anything else in the atelier range. At the back: a deep V-cut with a matching red cord tie — a clean tonal closure that doesn't interrupt the red-and-silver visual language. A side zip closes the silhouette with structural precision.
Styled in all six images with a fluid ruffled red skirt — the all-red monochromatic combination turns the silver embroidery into the only accent the look needs. Pearl bangles and silver tassel earrings in the images complete a look that is simultaneously bridal, festive, and entirely contemporary.
