Introducing the Gulzar Vine Blouse — Gulzar, meaning blooming garden, because what has been created on this blouse is not embroidery applied to fabric but a garden that has grown into it. Handcrafted at The Silver Stitch atelier in deep maroon, this is the most fully-embroidered blouse in the collection: gold floral vine work in resham, dabka, and zari covers every inch of the surface — body and sleeves together — leaving almost no bare base fabric visible.
The embroidery is a full botanical composition: gold metallic vine branches trail from neckline to cuff, breaking into flowers, leaf clusters, and small scattered floral units at intervals across the maroon ground. The gold is warm and varied — zari creates the metallic foundation, resham adds sheen and softness within the motifs, and dabka (fine metallic spring coil) provides raised dimension at the flower and leaf outlines. The flowers carry amber/orange resham accents within the gold petals, creating warmth inside the metallic framework. No centimetre of the blouse goes unembroidered.
The 10-inch 3/4 sleeves are fully embroidered — the vine work continues from the shoulder over the entire sleeve length, ending at a clean gold trim cuff that frames the sleeve bottom in a single metallic line. In the entire Silver Stitch collection, only one other blouse (the Gulnar Aaina cap-sleeve) has embroidered sleeves. The Gulzar has embroidered sleeves of considerably greater length and density — it is the most traditionally-coded sleeve construction in the series.
The open back is the contemporary counterpoint: a deep round scoop that exposes the full upper back, closed with a dori loop tie at the top of the opening and matching maroon cord tassels that hang at center back. The contrast between the richly embroidered front-and-sleeves and the clean open back is the whole design statement of this blouse. And the side zip closure at the seam provides a clean structural finish for size 40.
Styled here with a black flared lehenga — the maroon-and-gold embroidered blouse against all-black is the most unexpected and most striking combination in the collection. Gold jhumka earrings complete the look without competing with it.
