Black has never looked this considered. The Shab-e-Noor blouse — Urdu for night of light — is an all-over hand-beaded corset blouse where every pearl is placed by hand, row by meticulous row, by master artisans at The Silver Stitch atelier. The result is a surface that moves with the body, catching light from every direction, giving black its full depth back.
The craft
The blouse is entirely covered in multi-style pearl hand embroidery — a combination of round, seed, and textured pearl beads worked in flowing wave patterns that follow the natural contours of the sweetheart silhouette. No two rows are identical; the variation in bead size and placement gives the surface a dimensional, almost sculpted quality that is impossible to replicate by machine.
The straps are individually beaded in a fine linear pattern — a detail that elevates what could have been a simple strap into a piece of jewellery in its own right.
A structured sweetheart neckline at the front meets a plunging open back with a single dori tie closure — the contrast between the front's architectural form and the back's bare confidence is what makes this blouse distinctly modern. Cropped and boned, it wears as easily over a black lehenga as it does tucked into wide-leg cigarette trousers for a fusion-festive moment.
Black on black for sangeet. Pearl-and-gold jewellery for a reception. Minimal jewellery and a silk skirt for the after-party. This blouse styles across every chapter of a wedding weekend.
