Introducing the Teer Aaina Mirror Blouse — Teer (arrow) and Aaina (mirror), named for the directional precision of its embroidery. The herringbone/chevron arrangement of rectangular mirrors on this blouse points outward and downward from the sweetheart centre, like arrows arranged in formation, like Art Deco floor tiles laid at diagonal angles. It is the most architecturally precise embroidery in the Silver Stitch mirror series.
The mirror shape is what sets this piece apart from every other mirror blouse in the collection. Where the Parchin uses four shapes in mosaic, the Kanchan uses diamond mirrors in gold zari, and the Gulnar uses round circles — the Teer Aaina uses exclusively rectangular/baguette mirrors: longer than they are wide, laid on the diagonal in alternating rows to create a chevron herringbone pattern that radiates symmetrically from the sweetheart V-point. The rectangles alternate in orientation — some horizontal, some slightly angled — creating a woven tile effect across the full surface. Between them, black cut dana crystals fill the joins, giving the pattern its precise edge definition.
The mirror tones are intentionally mixed: some mirrors are bright silver/reflective, others are darker gunmetal/tonal — the variation creates depth across the surface, ensuring the pattern reads differently at different angles and under different lighting conditions. This is not accidental. A surface of only bright mirrors would read as one uniform flash. The tonal variation gives the herringbone its architectural quality.
The silhouette is the most contemporary in the black mirror series: a sweetheart neckline at the front, thin spaghetti straps embroidered with the same rectangular mirrors — each strap a miniature herringbone column — and a partially open back with a black dori lace-up closure ending in matching black tassel ends. Styled throughout with a black pencil midi skirt — the combination makes this blouse read as entirely Western in silhouette and entirely Indian in craft.
